Job Summary: Equinix is looking for a Scrum Master to work as a member of a growing and highly skilled software development group.  As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for guiding teams and ensuring the Scrum process is upheld and will work to ensure the Development team adheres to the practices and rules, as well as coach the teams on improving impediments in order to deliver the greatest value to Equinix customers.  The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, self-motivated, has excellent communication and mentoring skills while leading scrum teams and fostering dialogue with stakeholders, and at the same time help design, train, facilitate events and coach people in specific agile practices to achieve higher levels of scrum maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Empower teams to organize and deliver utilizing Scrum and Agile “Best Practices”.

  • Track and report execution metrics for Scrum Teams such as velocity/cycle time and consolidate for product/program-level view.

  • Assess the scrum maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity.

  • Assisting with internal and external communication while providing transparency.

  • Serve as Scrum Master for one or more teams.

  • Help the Product Owner and Development Team achieve KPI goals including customer satisfaction.

  • Facilitate events/ceremonies for Scrum Teams and teams-of-teams such as Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospective, Sprint Review, Daily Standup, and Scrum-of-Scrums

  • Lead teams to discover areas of improvement and drive action items to realize improvement goals.

  • Assist Scrum Teams from external interruptions by managing inbound requests from stakeholders through defined processes ensuring the adherence to good agile practices.

  • Remove impediments and coach the Scrum Team on removing impediments.

  • Resolve conflicts and issues that occur.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience preferred, 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an enterprise software context desired.

  • Associate's degree preferred

  • Excellent facilitation skills with a focus on achieving consensus when viewpoints diverge.

  • Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Master and PSM-II

  • Facilitate Scrum process and make Teams more effective using Scrum framework

  • Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework, Kanban, Large Scale Scrum, Nexus, Disciplined Agile Delivery or other agile scaling framework. Initial project focus will mainly be Nexus & Kanban.

  • Deep understanding of the enterprise software development lifecycle including agile transformations, DevOps mindset, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment

  • Understanding of methods to adjust team behaviors and actions to align to an agile mindset

  • Proficiency in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency

  • Expertise in combining different agile methods in a practical way to maximize value for both Scrum Teams and the organization

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment

  • Self-motivation and the ability to stay focused as priorities and team needs change

  • Team player with the ability to work well in a fast-paced professional and international environment.

  • Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: retrospective formats, story grooming techniques, handling bugs, etc.).

  • Coach the team members in self-management and cross-functionality.

  • Lead the Scrum Team to focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the definition of done.

  • Assist in the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress; and ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.

  • Assist with finding techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.

  • Assist the Scrum Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.

  • Establish empirical product planning for a complex environment.

  • Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed.

  • Lead, training, and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption.

  • Plan and advise Scrum implementations within the organization.

  • Assist employees and stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work.

  • Remove barriers between stakeholders and Scrum Teams.

In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085) the salary range for Colorado for this role is $68,000 - $90,000 per year with 15% bonus target.
