The Director, HRBP will be the strategic partner to our AmericasData Center Operations Sr. Leadership team, responsible for translating business strategy and requirements into regional HR strategy, plans and objectives for the function.  As a member of the HR Team, the Director, HR Business Partner will work closely with the Global HRBP of Operations and also collaborate with other regional HRBPs to ensure regional and local market requirements are represented in strategies and plans, along with other HR colleagues & teams.

This position requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment, while being a standout colleague with validated abilities to multi-task. Exceptional communication and people skills are a requirement. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be a resourceful, savvy professional that is committed to finding solutions and making an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic partner/trusted advisor to AMER Operations leadership team.  Works closely with senior leadership to define and execute talent strategies that enable alignment and growth.    Responsible for contributing to the strategy and priorities for the HR organization and ensuring alignment with the business strategy.  Translates and executes global HR solutions and strategies regionally.  Leads large-scale organizational changes and regional functional market activities.  

  • Brings an objective perspective in managing business problems.  Brings the right people and data together to shape insights regarding people, organizational dynamics and the business and translates this insight into sustainable solutions.  Recognizes and effectively balances the client group’s interests with the needs of the company.

  • Partner with the business leaders to maximize organizational effectiveness. Leverage expertise in organization design, team development, talent/workforce planning, change management to maintain a culture that optimizes employee experience and the passion and potential of our employees.

  • Develop in depth knowledge of the business both strategically and operationally to build consultative partnerships with executive, directors and managers within the Operations team. 

  • Through authenticity, establish credibility to problem solve and coach as a member of leadership team.  Serve as trusted advisor to the business on effective talent management, inclusion, and retention strategies

  • Advises on the design of HR programs, ensuring programs remain relevant in meeting business strategy.  Leads delivery of regional programs (HR and HR-adjacent) and responsible for implementation plan in region (Annual review, compensation, and policy related implementations).  Brings a regional lens to support ongoing HR processes and process improvement.

  • Lead high impact projects with on-time delivery, measurable outcomes and impact, and robust communication/change management.  Act as a change-agent as the business continues to reshape itself with a goal of providing a world class customer and employee experience.

  • Models effective partnerships with other enabling functions throughout the company to help leaders run the business.

  • Offer insight based on systemic thinking, inquiry, and analytics.

  • Think globally while bringing a deep regional knowledge to global discussions, expertise about local markets, and key regional trends.  Spot trends, proactively communicate and act in accordance to the team operating norms and contribute to a strong HR team across the company.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years experience preferred. Minimum of 10 years Human Resources experience with at least 5 years as Business Partner in an evolving global organization, high tech experience highly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Previous experience as an HRBP supporting a large field-based employee population; large US non exempt field workforce as well as CAN, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Peru

  • A broad base of human resources experience is a must, as well as, a strong track record and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards actions and solutions in line with business goals.

  • Experience leading organizational design, change management, and organizational effectiveness preferred.

  • Excellent ability to source, synthesize and interpret data and context, to tell a story and influence decision makers.

  • Proactive collaboration within the HRBP and center of excellence HR teams and demonstrated ability to impact and influence others.

  • Operating experience within a complex, changing environment.

  • In-depth experience operating within and leading cross-functional teams.

  • Strong systems thinking, highly collaborative, open-minded, persistent, and passion for and understanding of Equinix business.

  • Ability to travel to the operating locations in the AMER region approximately 20%.
