Summary

The HR BP Director role partners with executive leaders and their global leadership teams to define the HR Strategy, agree on business objectives, build high performing teams and optimize the functions. The role leads business change and global HR initiatives, driving engagement across the organization. The individual will also lead transformational projects that improve the organization including organization effectiveness and design, organizational capability and talent management. 

Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Talent Planning

  • Effectively diagnoses business issues and goals, turning these into an HR plan aligned with the business strategy
  • Takes a proactive role in the development of HR priorities and supports in the implementation of these, and other major global/regional change programs as required
  • Works with COEs to ensure HR activities are aligned to HR plan and provides support when required
  • Contributes to the business strategy, ensuring that the HR agenda supports the business plans and objectives
  • Drives and supports the region/function leadership team in the planning and budgeting activities needed to deliver the people strategy

Change Management

  • Identifies and leads organizational change initiatives
  • Leads, provides insights and advises on the people aspects of organizational change and transition, recommending and implementing process improvements (i.e. growth, reshaping, transition of services/roles/people)

HR Client Services

  • Owns relationship with executive leaders globally, in region and/or function
  • Coaches and develops senior leaders
  • Influences leadership decisions regarding organizational effectiveness and employee engagement
  • Works with senior leaders to optimize organizational design and drive business performance
  • Actively consults and provides solutions related to workforce, talent, and organizational matters within region or function
  • Develops forward-thinking solutions based on understanding of relevant business operations and strategies

HR Programs

  • Advises on the design and implementation of HR programs, ensuring programs remain relevant in meeting business strategy and goals
  • Provides leadership on global HR programs and responsible for implementation plan in region or country
  • Coaches senior leaders on HR processes and programs for region or function
  • M&A - Consults with business and lead HR integration efforts (talent review and planning, change management etc.) for M&A

Internal HR Relationships

  • Ensures effectiveness of HR function by championing HR Service Delivery model and collaboration across all HR teams
  • Partners and brings in resources from HR functions to implement HR solutions that meet the challenges of the business

HR Operations

  • Local guidance for day to day HR operations in region or country

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience delivering strategic level guidance and partnering to multiple executive level leaders
  • Coaching executive leaders on people strategy, change thinking and talent
  • Bring experience of operating in a HRBP strategic capacity in a diverse portfolio of global organisations.
  • Proven ability to see the ‘bigger long-term picture’ and think strategically while achieving short-term results
  • Focus on execution and results – establishing high standards for performance, setting goals and developing plans, following through, and holding people accountable for results
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty; ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations
  • Ability to build and develop relationships at all levels, including working collaboratively on business initiatives across functions such as Sales, Customer Success, HR, Finance, Marketing
  • Naturally connects and builds strong relationships with others, demonstrating strong emotional intelligence and an ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Proactive, collaborative and able to work comfortably in a non-hierarchical context
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong academic background in a relevant discipline.  
  • Adept at balancing intense short-term pressures with overall long-term goals 
  • Ability to effectively collaborate through and resolve global/local trade-offs with an Equinix and partner-first mindset
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with disparate teams and cultivate deep relationships to deliver customer value
