Job Summary
The Equinix Solution Marketing team is looking for a Director, Solution Marketing - Compute Solutions to drive go-to-market programs for all compute-centric solutions, following Equinix’s end-to-end Partner Joint Offering GTM (Go to Market) Framework, in close collaboration with Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, Segment Marketing and key compute solution alliance partners. In this role, you will develop a collaborative working relationship with key partners’ GTM leads to build joint programs that are optimized for both Equinix’s and their routes to market to drive incremental revenue.
The right person for this role is customer obsessed and can represent our target audience by understanding their needs and being their champion. We are working through complex challenges as we redesign the next generation of digital infrastructure with our customers — you will be instrumental in defining the next phase of Equinix. The position will report to the Director of Solution Marketing.
Responsibilities
Architect Equinix’s compute-centric solution plans, based on an understanding of target markets, buyers, the industry landscape, and key issues
Analyze potential market segments to determine which have a higher propensity to buy and whether the organization has the capability to deliver
Identify the key buyers for the solutions, develop buyer personas, and solidify understanding of buyer persona needs
Map products, services, and offerings from the internal organization, and potentially from external partners to market and buyer needs to create solutions
Conduct competitive analysis to understand where solutions may already exist and how to differentiate the new solutions
Identify the buying group for the solutions and map the buying journey process for the key buyers in the group
Build positioning and messaging for the solution and create a content strategy based on buyer behavior and preferences (e.g., white papers, brochures, social media, Web pages, online events)
Develop competitive comparison guide for use in positioning against like offerings from other organizations
Create the solution launch plan and the solution handbook and lead the launch and coordination efforts across external campaigns, communications and demand generation
Determine the best routes to market for the solution, internal or field sales, channel, or solutions partners, and/or ecommerce
Develop a launch plan to support both the solution’s commercial release as well as a growth plan to support its ongoing lifecycle management
Create a sales enablement plan and collaborate with a formal sales enablement function and/or sales operations for execution
Lead or assist in the creation of enablement content for direct and indirect sales resources (e.g., playbooks, battlecards, scripts, presentations, training modules, demos)
Create pricing models and facilitate the pricing decisions, or work with a central pricing team
Oversee the launch of the solution to the marketplace
Work closely with Partner Marketing, Product Management and Product Marketing
Participate in frequent interlocks with the following organizations
Corporate marketing and communications, campaigns, demand center
Field marketing
Sales enablement, training, and operations
Business unit leadership
Channel management/marketing
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of product marketing and/or product management or sales experience within the hybrid/dedicated cloud solution space. Experience with DevOps practices and personas will receive prioritized consideration.
Collateral creation – Collateral creation will include joint white papers, solution briefs, web pages, battle cards, demonstrations, customer facing and sales facing presentations
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and driving initiatives in a cross-functional environment
Excellent written and verbal communications including content creation through various mediums
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $172,000 to $308,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
NON-SALES ROLES
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
