Manages the team and provides overall strategy and direction, for successful delivery of projects & programs in service to the IBX site operations team and customers. Is responsible for execution and implementation of globally defined programs/portfolios. Responsible for effective management of time, money and human resources to define, implement and operationalize global, regional and local projects and programs. Ultimate responsibility for managing project/program risk. Scope predominantly is capital focused but will include other Opex and administrative programs
Provides overall leadership, strategy, and direction across teams and ensures the team's growth is in alignment with business needs
Sets functional and development objectives for managers / team members
Provides leadership and direction for the business function
Where required will advise the team on stakeholder management
Seeks opportunities to build effective stakeholder relationships on behalf of the team
Encourages feedback and has stakeholder knowledge of function and manages expectations
Creates and drives stakeholder communications and manages any escalations
Is responsible for overseeing a team who has multiple and broad communication responsibilities

Challenges the team and others on finding a balance between effective communications whilst pragmatic with volume, frequency and/or content
Is the highest-level escalation point within the team for highly complex issues
Challenges the team to ensure lateral thinking and information is fully analyzed to achieve resolution
Where necessary may refer and escalate outside of the immediate team
May direct multiple teams that are responsible for delivery of site customer & infrastructure projects and company-wide strategic programs
Delivers on time, in budget and with required quality
Drives direction of strategy and ensures alignment to business needs
Directs multiple project and program management business professionals
Is responsible for delivery of companywide strategic programs/portfolios
Resource Management (people, finances etc.)
Partners with leadership to set KPI's and metrics
Accountable for resource planning management (people, finances, vendor bids, etc.) across the project teams
Project and Program Management Frameworks
Influences, defines, and effectively communicates project management methodology and its application to customer solutions, customer orders, capital / infrastructure projects and company programs
Leadership characteristics of the role:
10+ years of team management experience, preferably with project teams
Previous experience working within a matrix type of organization/global environment
Ability to derive team’s roadmap, activity, and priorities out of numerous stakeholders’ expectations / needs
Demonstrates and instills the Equinix culture and values
Knowledge and Experience
Track record of influencing and collaborating with senior business leaders
Strong Program Management background, (certification preferred)
Full mastery of standardized program / project management tools and practices
Extensive knowledge of the processes and systems that underpin the data center business and more specifically the Equinix way to operate
Previous experience with Customer Projects (Cage & Strategic/GAM Customers)
Previous experience with Infrastructure Projects (Cyclical Replacement / Upgrade) e.g. less than $10Mil (UPS, Chiller, CRAC, Cabling backbone, etc.
Previous experience with Company-wide Programs execution / implementation
Previous experience with Vendor Cost Management & Costing Support to Sales e.g. Cabs, Cage build, Security, Cabling infrastructure, and custom requirement(s), excluding Facility R&M & Utilities cost
Skills and Attributes:
Exhibit overall strong business acumen
Fluent German and English
Creative, high energy, self-starter comfortable running programs independently
Solid presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills
History of using strong communications skills across multiple departments
Knows how to organize resources to effectively managed concurrent requests from an array of customers (internal and external)
