This position is within the Global Design and Construction team (over 200no. people) who deliver over 70no. projects globally per year (in excess of $1B capex).
Responsible for setting the standards and procedures for industry leading Project Management Controls within Equinix Construction. Ensure high standards for reporting are implemented and monitored throughout the Global GDC Construction portfolio.
Subject matter expert for process improvements and leading strategic initiatives to positively influence efficiency and supporting the Global GDC organization.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
Establish, define, and report upon Global Equinix D&C project management controls strategies and implementation.
Develop reporting methodologies, processes, and programs designed to deliver an industry leading program.
Actively work to define, develop and grow a positive and industry leading project management culture around the Global Construction program. The culture should reflect the values defined by the ‘Magic of Equinix’. The culture will demonstrate active caring and empower stakeholders to enact positive and lasting impact.
Serve as a source of reference for matters pertaining to reporting requirements. Develop and implement training protocols to ensure stakeholder engagement and participation.
Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate reporting requirements relevant to each region.
Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate reporting requirements relevant to each Joint Venture Partner.
The PMC team will be the global conduit for all reporting prior to a JV signing, during construction and after an asset has been completed into the JV partner and oversight groups.
Develop a strategy for Hub or project audits to ensure a consistent approach is being taken on all projects in line with the established policy and procedures
Establish monthly report dashboard for D&C management covering all aspects of project management controls development and implementation.
Manage the adoption and dissemination of best practice across metros, countries, region and between Contractors and consultants
Be responsible for continuous improvements against established standards with respect to internal and external audits.
Develop a training matrix for and actively support development of project management skills for the D&C team (Project managers and Design engineers)
Help coach and mentor the project management team in completion of the Equinix reporting requirements.
This role will be part of the Global Leadership Team for Equinix D&C, reporting to the VP of Global Construction
Ability to manage at a global level within a matrix organization is essential.
Identifies key project controls resources assigned to projects through the project stage gate process.
Execution and support of all assigned projects expeditiously through Equinix’s stage gate process and holding team members accountable for results.
Ensures timely and accurate reporting of project forecasts and monthly reports
Conducts post project audits to collect actual data versus forecasted data for the purpose of improving project results over time.
Support systems and tools group as it relates to development and implementation of software solutions for Project Management Controls.
Support the development of simple and sustainable data gathering to enhance and improve the project managers experience with regards to the multiple reporting requirements of the GDC organization.
