Job Summary: As the Digital Workplace Experience Automation Engineer you will lead the efforts around IT infrastructure automation from managing and enhancing our current AI helpdesk bot to researching and proposing the next automation opportunities and programs the Equinix Global IT Infrastructure teams will embark on. This role will be responsible for building, publishing and marketing the global IT infrastructure automation framework.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of solutions that automate enterprise IT infrastructure operations, such as:

    • OS provisioning/patching

    • Tools deployment

    • Monitoring

    • Metrics/Trend gathering and analysis

    • Other operations tasks, business processes and workflows

  • Partner with current in-house and 3rd party AI and Automation vendors to clean-up, maintain and enhance the current infrastructure automation services

  • Work with stakeholders and infrastructure teams to deliver transformational solutions leveraging in-house or 3rd party automation tools

  • Collaborates with architects and engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into real world solutions that are flexible, scalable, and maintainable system designs

  • Working with multiple vendors and getting new services, features and products delivered in time to meet organizational goals

  • Conduct research on automation products, services, protocols, and standards to provide Equinix with the industry's best automation standards and practices


Qualifications

  • Must have an "Automate Everything" attitude

  • 7+ years experience. 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Configuration, Build, Deployment, Release Management or Infrastructure Design is required

  • Experience in large and complex automation engagements

  • Intermediate knowledge of identity management and access control systems (LDAP, Kerberos, AD, etc.)

  • Broad experience in enterprise computing environments required

  • Strong knowledge IP communication and routing is required

  • Foundational knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Fundamental understanding of enterprise security practices is a plus

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail

  • Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong customer service orientation with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Bachelor's preferred

  • A+, Network+ and MCIPT certification preferred
