Equinix Metal is looking for an experienced Developer Advocate to help advance the team's goals of creating the best possible experience for developers who use Equinix Metal. As a ambassador for our users you’ll be engaging with developers who use the product and helping to create resources that make their lives easier. We're looking for someone who is equally passionate about technology and about helping people solve problems.
You’ll join a large, fully remote, team of Developer Relations professionals who are excited about hardware, networking, open-source and developer culture. We are on a mission to share the value of our phenomenal infrastructure and ecosystem.
This role is fully remote and will need at least a 4h overlap with EST. This role requires some in-person attendance of events within your global region (NA or Europe) as well as in your local area. While it’s hard to predict the exact amount of travel required you should be comfortable with up to 25%.
Engaging with users: You’ll be a public-facing expert about getting things up and running on Equinix Metal. You’re available to help users understand our product, tooling, and partner offerings.
Engaging with internal staff: You’ll gather your insights and share these with internal product, engineering and customer success experts to help influence developer-relevant decision-making.
Making connections: You’ll know who the expert is in each subject and route the information and the people to each other intelligently.
Creating resources: When you spot patterns in what people are struggling with, you create a resource and make it available to those who need it, building up a body of work that’s useful to users and other Equinix staff.
Coding: You'll spend time creating example solutions that make use of our technology and that of our partners.
Writing: When needed, you’ll create technical guides and tutorials to help users succeed.
Live Streaming: You'll work with our other developer advocates to plan and host live stream sessions with other members of the Equinix team, partners, and open source maintainers to create engaging and fun content for developers.
Presenting: Our developer advocates submit talk proposals and seek opportunities to join webinars, live streams, podcasts, and events.
Having fun: This role involves a lot of people-work and sometimes puts you in the spotlight as a writer, presenter, and/or host. It should be something you enjoy and look forward to.
Our ideal candidate will have a good number of the following:
7+ years experience preferred. 3+ years of experience creating content for a sophisticated technical audience
Bachelor's degree preferred
Substantial experience with bare metal hardware, data centers, advanced networking, cloud, and/or cloud native infrastructure and development.
Demonstrable experience speaking, writing and coding.
Familiarity with Open Source software and communities.
Passion for technology and willingness to experiment, iterate, and teach what you've learned.
Openness as a communicator, maintaining transparency with our team and community, and open to feedback, both giving and receiving.
You are able to put yourself in your audience’s shoes and imagine how they will experience your work. team player. You understand that delivering a value proposition is a challenge best tackled as a team effort. You can successfully partner with the other Developer Relations teams to support their ideation and delivery efforts.

In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085) the salary range for Colorado for this role is $98K- $132K per year with 20% bonus target.
