As a Level II Critical Facility Engineer, your responsibility is to support maintaining and ensuring the technical operation of all mechanical, electrical, and security systems within the Equinix data centres. You will be involved in ordering and accepting the installation work of these systems and ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely and correct manner to ensure full availability. You will work closely with subcontractors and support them when needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for learning to coordinate the work, subcontractors, and technical modifications.
This role is for someone with a good foundation of experience but who may not be in the full swing of their career. We are keen to watch someone develop, and we’re excited to welcome someone eager to learn and grow with us!
Your tasks include:
- Help keep our facility running smoothly by performing basic preventative maintenance checks on non-critical components.
- Pitch in with simple repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure everything stays in great shape.
- Keep an eye on our Building Monitoring System (BMS) by following our easy-to-understand procedures and responding to basic alarms with guidance.
- Receive clear instructions for your tasks and enjoy working closely with a supportive team.
- Collaborate with our vendors to follow standard operating procedures and ensure everything is on track.
- Assist in maintaining site logs for important permits, like Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) and scripts.
- Complete routine work order requests with supervision, helping to keep our facility in top condition.
- Support the team with routine incident management requests, contributing to a safe and efficient environment.
- Lend a hand to various departments during maintenance activities, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Get involved in infrastructure projects by providing basic assistance to senior staff and learning through shadowing opportunities.
Your profile:
- Minimum completed MBO education or equivalent
- You will be either electrically or mechanically biased in knowledge
- Demonstrable work experience as a maintenance technician, facility manager, or service engineer
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required, and Dutch is preferred
- Service-oriented and solution-focused
- Willingness to work on-call shifts
- Motivated and flexible
- Based in the Netherlands
