Job Summary:

Monitor and manage individual projects or elements of larger projects from initiation through completion by using formal processes and tools to coordinate resources and effectively manage risks, issues and changes, ensuring successful and timely deployments according to customers' specifications and Equinix standards.

As CPM4, you will handle multi-site and/or complex and sometimes multi-regional customer deployments, develop and handle the project schedule, effectively engage internal partners, and hold them accountable for completing their tasks.

The CPM4 will be expected to work generally independently on escalations and issue resolution for customers. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following specific duties:

  • Management of cross-functional and multi-site and/or cross-regional deployments to ensure commitments are met/exceed customers' expectations, providing a successful and smooth service delivery experience.
  • Identify the needs of stakeholders to keep them informed and updated on the progress of the deployment.
  • Develop and manage the overall project schedule and plans and implement those plans through to completion.
  • Identify and manage risks to customer deployment and in-flight changes.
  • Effectively share potential timeline risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Leverage experience to proactively address situations early in the process.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled customer meetings and internal partner meetings.
  • Develop and manage timely customer communications on updates, issues and resolutions, and key milestones, and manage escalations.
  • Handle mid-level escalations independently (manager-assisted otherwise).
  • Responsible for representing Equinix and maintaining an executive-level presence during the deployment process.
  • Facilitate communications across all teams.
  • Resolve standard issues independently (complex with manager assistance)
  • Responsible for holding internal teams accountable for our commitments.
  • Continuous improvement strategic approach to leveraging customer and internal debriefs as lessons learned.
  • Combine patience, determination, and persistence to troubleshoot customer issues.
  • Coordination of final walk-through and compiling and sending project closing documents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and a dedication to resolving issues.
  • Collaborative personality and able to build strong personal relationships.
  • Able to plan, lead and complete customer deployments independently.
  • Good technical knowledge and an understanding of data centres’ environment.
  • Calm and effective under pressure. Able to remain professional in high-stress situations.
  • Analytic and with good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English and French communication skills.

Education / Certifications / Experience

  • Degree level qualification, preferably in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a technical industry, preferably telecommunications or data centres.
  • Proven experience in a high-pressure, customer-facing role.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Prince2 Project Management certification preferred
