Job Summary: The One Legal team at Equinix is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager or attorney to support Equinix’s rapidly-growing Canadian Government business. This role will be based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Both conduct and advise department personnel on the review, initiation, negotiation, administration (including monitoring and reporting), and close out of Canadian Government contracts.
Communicate and correspond directly with customer contracting officials.
Initiate and manage transactional and internal escalations as necessary.
Act as liaison between and among Equinix business units to ensure compliance with contract terms.
Understand, adhere to, and promote company ethics and compliance policies.
Use functional experience and expertise in the review and administration of nondisclosure, teaming, and subcontract agreements.
Assist in the identification, recommendation, development, and implementation of enhancements to Equinix’s government contracting policies and processes.
Conduct proposal preparation including examination of RFP solicitation requirements and estimates, analyzing terms and conditions to evaluate risks to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, customer specifications, and proposal submission.
Review, improve, and address gap areas in contracting department templates and documents.
Travel to company locations or customer sites as and when necessary.
Keep up to date with ongoing industry developments and education.
Perform other duties as required.
At least eight years of significant experience in engaging, directing, managing, or supervising the contracting process (for all types of contracts) with the Canadian Government (including formation, negotiation, administration, and reporting activities) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Currently holds or is eligible to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government security clearance.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships and act as a liaison between and among external and internal customers.
Analytical approach to problem solving, risk assessment and strategy.
Excellent proposal development skills, strong ability to navigate complex negotiations, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proven ability to ‘issue spot’ based on extensive past work experience and formal training received.
Must be a highly organized individual capable of multi-tasking and will be required to manage multiple functions and interact with personnel at all levels of management.
Advanced degrees in Business Administration or a closely related discipline preferred.
Commercial contracts legal knowledge preferred.
French-Canadian speaking skills preferred.
Strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint skills.
