The Compliance Manager acts as a specialized single point of contact (SPOC) for all Telecom license related and other compliances including any regulatory/third party audits/certifications, as maybe required within a diverse scope. Apart from Telecom Regulatory compliance which would be the prime responsibility of this position, the person would also be responsible to track the various other compliances for data centers and pursue with respective Operations team to ensure these compliances are completed on time. The person will be responsible for :  resolving compliance issues, implementation of  compliance and local legislative requirements at site level, ensures Equinix management systems remain compliant to the requirements globally and drives continual improvement.

Responsibilities

Telecom Regulatory : Equinix has acquired IP1, VNO Access and VNO ILD licenses and plans to acquire more licenses to support launch of new interconnection services

  • Takes on an active responsibility in addressing, managing and resolving various compliance obligations of the Company for all acquired licenses including co-ordinating with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly compliance reports and submit records of new added customer for IP1 license/Telecom License.
  • Familiar with the various license/registration conditions and develops and maintains relationships with concerned stakeholders/parties on all license related requirements.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and yearly and submit compliance reports to the Telecom Regulator in connection with various licenses/registrations.
  • Co-ordinates with finance and other stakeholders (internal and external) to prepare and submit necessary AGR filings/certifications, reports and make timely payments to the regulators.
  • Conduct annual inspection from concerned authorities and satisfy his needs.
  • Plans specialized site level and networking level compliance audits and inspections in co-ordination with various stakeholders.
  • Develops industry knowledge of standards and legal/ regulatory requirements and developments in the Telecom sector impacting the Company and the Licenses/Registration.
  • Ensures compliance with new and existing local/regional/regulatory requirements and follow up on any actions.
  • Creates specialized reports and communicates findings and risks to the management/internal stakeholders.
  • Interacts and develops good relationships with the regulator on various regulatory and compliance aspects and responds to specialized queries on compliance issues.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of a global management systems including related policies, processes, templates and procedures leading to standardization, consistency and continual improvement.
  • Identifies and participates in specialized process improvement initiatives and compliance projects/inspections for the site/country in collaboration with regional and/or global stakeholders.
  • Monitors and tracks any compliance related training as required by the business, ensuring in scope site personnel complete training within target dates
  • Evaluates specialized compliance related changes, processes, equipment and substances for compliance with Equinix policies and the legal/regulatory requirements and recommends corrective action.

General

  • Attends government bodies meetings, inspection, hearing as and when happens or called.
  • Prepares reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.
  • Prepares a tracker for all regulatory approvals and preserve original copies in safe custody.
  • Obtains necessary permissions / licenses required if any due to new regulation and compliance the same.
  • Assists IBX managers in the implementation of site level compliance policies and processes, as per requirements
  • Conducts routine site inspections with focus on requirements from local/regional/regulatory and Equinix requirements
  • Identifies and communicates potential risks and issues in a timely manner
  • Ensures all required compliance reports/records are maintained in relevant local repositories; including records relevant to operations/networks/IBX compliance.
  • Files environmental and explosive (HSD) compliance reports as required.
  • Tracks all electrical inspectorate (CEIG) and Data center operations compliance obligations including DG set related, hazardous waste, e waste and other waste, accidents/failure of equipment and all necessary records of electrical inspection.
  • Handling all external audits (ISO/Tier Certification/LEED etc) of Data Center
  • Tracks all environment permissions whether new or for renewals

Program Management

  • Produces seasoned compliance reports for local management including key performance indicators and metrics for diverse matters
  • Performs a moderate analysis on corrective and preventative actions to identify diverse systemic issues/root causes/delays in completion and recommends resolving a variety of compliance issues through preventive actions
  • Identifies and participates in specialized process improvement initiatives and compliance projects for the site/country in collaboration with regional and/or global stakeholders.
  • Answers specialized queries on compliance tools/systems and manages the tool as an admin.

Training

  • Monitors and tracks any compliance related training as required by the business, ensuring in scope site personnel complete training within target dates
  • Manages and tracks relevant mandatory diverse compliance training
  • Provides specialized level training and inductions for new compliance personnel within a diverse scope
