The Digital Workplace Experience team is looking for a dynamic and hands on leader to manage a team of highly motivated engineers and futurists that will establish and evolve a framework for how we choose, implement, adopt, and scale our colleague focused IT devices and virtual desktop/application platforms that are used daily to enable our colleagues global, dynamic, and diverse work environments.

The ideal candidate is a device enthusiast who finds fun in researching and deploying the latest and greatest devices and gadgets, setting up home labs, testing out virtual desktop and application technologies and wants to drive Equinix’s device strategy for its 13,000+ global colleagues. Has proven success at managing PoCs, projects, enterprise deployments, vendors, and partners that drive for results that lead to real business value.  Someone who thrives at leading and growing engineers and project teams to successfully deliver global solutions that drive a more seamless and frictionless colleague experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a future proof device strategy that delivers the best device and virtual access technologies for our multiple global workplace identities

  • Establish, foster, and grow partnerships with global device and virtual access industry leaders

  • Fully automate the device, software, and virtual desktop onboarding and offboarding experienceDevelop and continue to evolve the global device strategy and roadmap to deliver the most up to date technology to ensure a seamless colleague experience

  • Enhance and grow the global device catalogue by partnering with global device industry leaders

  • Build a fully automated, self-service global software catalogue

  • Oversees governance and project management activities for the device engineering product lines to ensure high user adoption

  • Partner with enterprise virtual workspace companies to provide seamless virtual desktop or application experience globally

  • Work with the ITAM team to develop and maintain device and COTS software lifecycles

  • Completely automation of the device, software, and virtual desktop lifecycle

  • Lead, develop and mentor team members through 1 on 1’s, goal setting and achievement and career building exercises

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional leadership experience in a global enterprise IT support or device engineering

  • 3+ years of architecting and implementing a vision, strategy, and roadmap for a Microsoft and Apple ecosystem

  • Demonstrated experience in negotiations with large hardware and software vendors

  • Influential and effective communicator that has a proven history of bringing together diverse people and teams to deliver an aligned vision, strategy, and goal

  • Proven success in leading diverse project teams and partners providing real world solutions to business problems that achieve high adoption and colleague satisfaction scores

  • Leads by example, easily approachable by staff and partners, promotes a collaborative work environment and actively takes part in their team's talent development using individual developmental and growth plans.

  • Experience with managing annual department CAPEX/OPEX budgets

  • Proven ability to manage "up" to Senior IT management for effective communication, planning, and strategy building

  • Models after the Equinix Culture and Values

  • Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent experience
