The primary focus of the role is the day-to-day management of Equinix’s Energy contracts. The role holder will maintain compliance of the energy and sustainability program. Working globally with other project teams and stakeholders the successful candidate is expected to provide strategic support and leadership. The role holder will be the  expert on utility/supply/cashflow/budget risk and, reduce, document and maintain such risks. The candidate is expected to regularly report on utilities costs and risks highlighting efforts to the executive team

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day management of procurement, sustainability, reporting.
• Create, control and enhance existing reporting activities
• Regularly present to E-staff and other Internal/external groups as necessary.
• Maintain and execute against the company’s Strategic Energy Plan
• Act as the SME for Utility and Supply contract queries.
• Work with internal teams and energy consultant to ensure full participation in key program elements so that resulting data and information is sufficiently detailed, complete, accurate, and auditable so as to be used for external reporting agencies such as Global Reporting Initiative or Carbon Disclosure project.
• Manage the sourcing and purchasing process including development of qualified bidders’ lists; receipt and evaluation of proposals; negotiation, award and administration of purchase orders, and preparation and distribution of records and reports.
• Establish and manage relationships with internal customers.
• Assist in the creations and retention of accurate utility and sustainability data
• Ability to travel frequently travel internationally and domestically.
   

Qualifications:

• experience with complex contract negotiations and supplier management.
• Supplier / Utility / Energy Consultancy experience.  
• Knowledgeable in supplier management specific to utilities, with broad based understanding of the global markets.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, successfully interfacing with all internal and external stakeholders.
• Possess excellent negotiation skills, evidenced by significant deliverables (cost savings, risk mitigation) resulting from completed negotiations.
• Provide excellent analytical skills identifying customer needs and defining best possible solutions.
• 5+ years’ experience working in power utilities procurement and/or sustainability.
