Cabling Technician II

Do you have experience of installing, terminating and testing Cat5e and Cat6a cables within a datacentre environment? Are you a technician who would like to be part of passionate company that is expanding fast and can offer plenty of opportunity?

As a Datacentre Cabling Technician, you will be part of a team that is at the core of our Equinix Operations department, providing daily cabling support to the Datacentre.

Responsibilities

Cross Connects

• Installs/Tests/Modifies cross connects per SOPs and ensures proper cable management of: coax, fiber, twisted pair copper and intra-building cross connects
• Installs and tests advanced cross connects circuits (switched, multiplexed, etc.)
• Installs and test IBX Link cross connects using Fluke and JDSU testers

Documentation/Reporting

• Maintains detailed written records of all work activity

Projects

• Supports fulfillment of projects with direction from senior staff

Training

• Completes all assigned training in a timely manner

Customer Management

• Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution
• Working in conjunction with the Datacentre Manager to ensure that intra IBX Infrastructure Cabling is always available

Requirements

Essential

• Industry standard cabling qualifications or previous work experience
• PC literate and proficient in all MS office applications with ability to accurately input data
• Able to quickly adapt to new environments, processes and procedures
• Self-motivated and flexible
• Excellent at planning and have good organizational skills
