Job Summary: Equinix is currently looking for a Director of Business Development to join our Technology Partner Program team leading the Cisco partnership and other network technology companies.  In this role, you will be part of a team building a world-class ecosystem by creating joint solutions with partners who are highly strategic to the company's long-term goals.  This person should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, as well as build and convey compelling value propositions.  In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, enablement and identifying go-to-market opportunities, to help grow Equinix’s Platform Alliances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activity supporting Equinix Product Management on Cisco collaboration on Network Edge product development and enhancements

  • Lead on boarding network technology companies with Network Edge joint solutions 

  • Technical and business creativity on what kind of joint solutions Equinix can create with Cisco and other network technology companies 

  • Write detailed business cases on proposed joint solutions including economic value analysis as to why Equinix enabled approach provides significant incremental value vs. what is being done today, buyer profile of use cases and key purchase criteria, partner / channel routes to market and go to market requirements, technical solution architecture, competitive analysis, revenue forecast and financial model, dependencies, and strategic alignment. 

  • Demonstrates capability of engaging and leading BD initiatives with the C suite inside of customer/partner and within Equinix

  • Lead work with accounts/Partners teamed with account and Solutions Architecture teams to create insertion and opportunities to close new business/relationships leveraging standard contract offers

  • Lead global development and execution of a plan to go deep with strategic partners to drive BD programs across EMEA, AP, Americas

  • Works with Solutions Architecture and product teams to outline high priority feature requirement for existing Markets

  • Establishes communications and coordination framework for virtual team operation

  • Identifies and manages program plan with assistance from program management organization

  • Builds broad, cross-functional field enablement program for specific initiative area

  • Creates budget and cost estimate for a scalable field enablement model and gains approval

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in networking and network security industries spanning network technology and network services 

  • Work experience for Cisco in Business Development joint solution creation roles or conducting joint solution business development with Cisco 

  • Experience and knowledge of Cisco SolutionPlus, Cisco+ and other Cisco supported routes to market 

  • Knowledge and experience working with Cisco’s channel partners and program 

  • Experience building business cases for IT services and associated financial models 

  • Ability to translate between business and technical domains, managing requirements, constraints and opportunities across both 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and presentation skills in working across both executive and non-executive team members

  • Experience leading cross functional teams, setting goals and working toward that goal 

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Engineering, Applied Science, Business or Finance degrees preferred 

  • Master's Degree of Business Administration preferred

For CO residents: In accordance with Colorado State Law (https://leg.colorado.gov/bills/sb19-085) the salary range for this role is $153,000 – $214,000 per year with 30% bonus target.
