What is the role about?
The Bid Management Manager takes ownership of the end-to-end bid process from capture to implementation transition, drives and mandates the strategy to the pursuit team, working alongside key stakeholders. They track risk management throughout the bid process and contribute to the creation of the proposal for Key accounts/GAM/Major Accounts.
Based out in London or Paris or Amsterdam
Works cohesively with sales and cross functional departments to build customer trusted advisor relationships and to understand customers' requirements
Understands complex technical, strategic, and business issues by capturing all relative information at early stage of the opportunity
Mandates and drives the pursuit team through the opportunity aligned to bid strategy
Provides analyses of opportunities and best practices Bid Management Process
Acts as subject-matter-expert in the end to end bid process including designing and developing templates, documents, policies, and procedures to define and support the bid process and determining timelines and responsibilities for bid activities
Ensures the bid process is adhered to including qualification, kick-off meetings, solutioning, theming, reviews and sign-off.
Identifies and implements process improvements that reduce resource requirements for bid development
Responsible for close liaison with internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure all information is accurate and communicates/manages where gaps exist to the pursuit team
Through bid best practices and methodologies, prepares high quality bespoke bid documents for multi-product and service and / or large complex bids to ensure consistency across the bid in style, format, and language to align to overall bid strategy through value propositions and win themes
Translates technical, strategic, and business issues and develops prospect value propositions
Identifies and inserts appropriate case study evidence to support the submission, identifying and sourcing new evidence where it doesn’t exist
Reviews and edits responses to ensure they are compelling, compliant, consistent and competitive where appropriate
Proactively identifies areas of improvement of the Bid Management process and toolset
Produces post bid reviews, handover documents, and lesson learned meetings.
Delivers guidance and training to Sales Representatives on bid and proposal management methodologies to enhance the selling capabilities of the Salesforce
Who are you?
A strong communicator who can quickly build trust and working relationships across multi-cultural and virtual teams
Displays an adaptable and creative approach to bid and proposal development, ensuring an excellent standard of final customer documentation and an eye for detail and document lay out
Ability to focus and prioritize a workload of complex bids under pressure, in line with customer timelines and deadlines
Confident in driving and co-ordinating a pursuit team of sales and SME stakeholders through the full bid process; including qualification, go/no go decisions, document reviews and lessons learned meetings
Experience in working with Sales to build and refine win themes and messaging to resonate with customer business needs and strategy
Demonstrated experience writing persuasive, customer focused messaging and educate wider pursuit teams on bid best practice and value driven propositions
Understanding of Shipley and APMP best practice. APMP Accreditation or similar proposal management qualification an advantage
Desire to work on projects and processes to drive continuous improvement within the function
