Job Summary: The Bid Management Senior Consultant takes ownership of the end-to-end bid process, drives the strategy to the pursuit team, and works alongside key stakeholders. They are responsible for risk tracking and management throughout the bid process and contributing to the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation.
Works cohesively with Sales to build customer relationships and to understand customers' requirements through deal pipeline
Understands complex technical, strategic, and business issues by capturing all relative information at early stage of the opportunity
Works with stakeholders to influence client RFx where necessary
Mandates and drives opportunity through the set bid strategy
Chairs, conducts, and consults on Go/No Go decision (Go/No Go and sign off) in accordance with Bid Management procedures
Facilitates Price to win
Works and collaborates with cross functional teams by scheduling and organizing regional Deal Reviews and all necessary approvals for the deal
Manages relationships and communications with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, third-party suppliers, and other partners required to successfully execute a deal
Produces the bid brief to key stakeholders’ audiences
Provides analyses of opportunities and best practices
Bid Management Process
Acts as subject-matter-expert in the end-to-end bid process
Manages and orchestrates complex, multiregional RFx
Manages and owns the compliance matrix as part of the bid process, ensuring bid procedures are adhered to
Applies risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
Designs and develops templates, documents, policies, and procedures to define and support the bid process
Arranges, determines, and consults on bid process meetings, including kick off, midpoint, approval meetings
Determines timelines and responsibilities for bid activities
Identifies and facilitates collaboration of resources and expertise as required by maintaining bid budget and project manages the virtual teams involved in the RFx development
Identifies and implements process improvements that reduce resource requirements for bid development
Responsive for close liaison with internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure all information is accurate and communicates/manages where gaps exist to the pursuit team
Reports on bid activity, identifying areas of strength and weakness and sharing this information to drive continuous improvement of the bid
Facilitates workshops with the document authors to develop win themes, story boards, and document structure that help the team to produce a clear, consistent, and complete submission document
Through bid best practices and methodologies, prepares high quality bespoke bid documents for multi-product and service and / or large complex bids to ensure consistency across the bid in style, format, and language to align to overall bid strategy through value propositions and win themes
Translates technical, strategic, and business issues and develops prospect value propositions
Identifies and inserts appropriate case study evidence to support the submission, identifying and sourcing new evidence where it doesn’t exist
Contributes to the written document when required – for both the bid document and presentation
Reviews, drafts, and effects improvement through quality control and procedures
Drives and chairs the final reviews in accordance with Winning Color Team Reviews
Facilitates and drives BAFO response and any prospect clarification questions in a professional, seamless customer experience approach
Facilitates and drives stakeholders with prospect follow up bid presentation
Develops RFxs content in collaboration with other Business Units
Proactively identifies areas of improvement of the Bid Management process and toolset
Gives guidance with business and marketing development
Produces post bid reviews, handover documents, and win/loss reviews
Delivers guidance and training to Sales Representatives on bid and proposal management methodologies to enhance the selling capabilities of the salesforce
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Association for Proposal Management Professional (APMP) certification with 1 to 3 years of experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while still adhering to company/departmental standards
Demonstrated ability to provide clear direction to achieve goals and assign tasks, while offering support and follow up as necessary
US Government active clearance preferred
