As a key member of the Accounts Payable team you are a motivated individual who will be responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payables processing as well as special projects as they occur.
Responsibilities
Reading and understanding purchase orders and internal receiving processes
Understanding of 2- & 3-way matching invoices as well as non-PO process
Monitor weekly automated payment runs to insure successful transmission
Research for audits and miscellaneous customer requests and questions
Reconcile vendor statements to internal system/electronic documents
Research and record any direct debits
Liaison between 3rd party suppliers and Equinix
Understand the importance of detailed back up documentation and maintaining up to date policies and procedures
Own the end-to-end 1099 process
Act as the first level for day-to-day issues, problems, questions, workload
Make lower-level decisions on daily, routine transactions
Assist Global Back Office in achieving performance goals that promote greater efficiencies
Take lead on new projects or integrations
Provide support and research budget variances upon request of management
Solve tickets according to SLA’s
Communicate with customers and suppliers timely and professionally
Be an independent problem solver
Able to clearly define the root cause of an error, explain it and correct it
Address payment status questions and account errors
Recognize system issues and work with cross functions teams to solve
Assist with banking related issues
Ownership of higher level payables from entry to payment (Board Member, Channel, Legal)
Month end close and balancing
Back up for department manager while away or unavailable
Qualifications
Proficient in Spanish, speaking, reading, and writing required
Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business; or a minimum of 5 years of related experience
Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory or training experience required
Understanding of basic accounting principles and account reconciliations as well as SOX controls
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
High level of organization and time management skills
Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Products
Experience with Oracle Accounts Payable; Oracle Cloud Fusion is a bonus
Coupa experience a bonus
