The Acquisition Account Executive 2 sells Equinix solutions to new accounts within a diverse scope. Focus on mid-size domestic and global accounts.

Responsibilities

  • A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. 

  • Career-level sales account managers who are fully qualified, experienced professionals.

  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.

Prospecting

  • Partners with other Sales stakeholders to strategize and lead sales opportunity qualification.

  • Pursues highest propensity prospects with no current revenue and fills the funnel with opportunities while cold calling prospects and building industry contacts.

  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders at prospect companies.

Leverage Internal & External Partners

  • Receives support with sales approach from extended sales teams and external partners within a diverse scope.

  • Demonstrates consistent intra-region selling and occasional cross region exports.

  • Leverages network of peer representatives in strategic alliance and reseller partners to map and penetrate new accounts.

  • Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

Account Planning

  • Researches and documents detailed understanding of customer business and organizational landscape on high priority prospects.

  • Exercises good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Effectively transitions account to Account Manager, maintaining customer satisfaction to ensure future revenue growth.

Pipeline Management

  • Actively monitors and maintains status of opportunities in SalesForce Database, following the principles of forecasting within a diverse scope.

Territory Planning

  • Facilitates commercial offer and contract negotiations in partnership with Sales Management, leveraging internal resources as needed to obtain the best commercial terms possible.

  • Understands commercial levers and partners with Sales leadership, commercial solutions, and Profit & Loss (P&L) to recommend deal structure.

Mentorship / Lead

  • Open to guidance from leadership and more senior Account Executives.

  • Receives little instruction; general instruction on new assignments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree required
