We are looking for a technically strong, energetic, highly collaborative, and passionate Senior Engineer to take part in software engineering team responsible for a Digital Integration Platform that drives $6B+ revenue and comprises 800+ services connecting all the business systems.
Primarily responsible for ensuring that customer facing Equinix Software Products are highly available, reliable, and performant through world-class monitoring, alerting, self-healing capabilities by applying software engineering practices
Spends approximately half the time with the core engineering teams advocating and contributing towards making our application services resilient and the remaining half the time with core site operations teams.
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Equinix software products towards preventing (pro-active) as well as troubleshooting and mitigating (re-active) service availability/performance issues
Develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor application services in a large-scale and complex environment
Being able to multi task and deliver in a fast paced, rapidly evolving technology landscape and participate in an on-call escalation for incident resolutions.
Participating in cross-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other engineering teams.
Participating in architecture discussions and planning
Advocate and Follow best design and development practices adhering to Engineering standards.
Participate in Design & Peer Code Review process
A high sense of ownership, passion for Platform Product development
Bachelor's/Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Technology or other equivalent field experience.
5+ years of managing and leading a team of software professionals responsible for highly distributed software platforms/systems.
2+ years of operational understanding of Virtualization, Containerization ecosystem including Docker & Kubernetes.
Experience in API Development Platform like TIBCO and API Management platforms like Apigee, MuleSoft is preferrable.
Experience in RESTful API development and GraphQL.
Experience optimizing a high traffic website for robustness and scale-out Architecture.
Experience in technologies like Cassandra, Kafka, Oracle database & JMS is a plus
Expertise in troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems and the tools necessary to do so, such as tcpdump, etc.
Experience in providing global support coverage is a plus.
Experience with AWS Cloud & Networking Concepts is a plus
1+ years professional experience in a software development leadership role
Bachelor's in Engineering preferred
