Analyzes business requirements/functional designs to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Designs software systems.
Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis
Reviews, analyzes and gives feedback on requirements/functional designs
Attends and engages in requirement definition meetings
Software/Application Architecture
Participates and leads architectural review process
Software Design
Designs for larger enhancements, projects and cross system/functional enhancements
Conducts design reviews, provides technical leadership
Development/Coding
Develops and maintains code for larger enhancements, projects and integrations
Fixes defects and participates and conducts peer code review
Follows and proposes design and coding standards and processes
Provides technical leadership
Conducts code performance analysis, tuning and review
Application QA
Develops unit and cross functional tests, develops test strategies, executes test cases, logs issues, manages issues, recommends testing frameworks, records and runs automated test scripts, and designs automated test scripts
DevOps
Defines roadmap of automation tools and its value to software engineering practices
Drives infrastructure requirements
Reviews release planning and deployment lists
Ensures quality and completeness of deployments
Software Reliability & Support Engineering
Defines roadmap of production change control and its value to software engineering practices
Drives certification processes working with cross-domain teams
Takes accountability of the Operational SLAs
Responsible for the debugging of L2 & L3 incidents/problems
Reporting
Responsible for status reporting
Defines and drives release management planning
Technical Project Management
Provides level of effort (LOE)
Manages assigned development tasks to schedule/plan, provides leadership and planning for completing development for large enhancements and projects
R&D
Qualifications
At least 7+ to 10 years of experience in ITSM Business Process and Technical Process Consulting, High Level Design and technical solutions for ServiceNow implementation
Integrations with ServiceNow using LDAP, Trusted Sources for SSO, Mid server, web-services, email and other relevant technologies
Participate in implementation, customization and maintenance of ITIL modules such as incident, change, problem, knowledge, service catalog and CMDB in ServiceNow
Any working knowledge on Legal package/Application (Legal: Request Management) will be advantageous but not mandatory. i.e. Tables like sn_lg_ops_request or so
Proficient in working with Agile/Scrum SDLC, experience using an Agile project methodology in the development and implementation of solutions
Work with the technical development teams around solutions technologies such as Glide scripting, Jelly script, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, ServiceNow APIs
Experience working with JavaScript libraries such as AngularJS, React, Bootstrap, Node.js, jQuery, and Prototype
Proficient in all areas of ServiceNow development and configuration including but not limited to Business Rules, ACLs, Script Includes, UI Scripts, Scheduled Jobs, Client Scripts, UI Pages, UI Macros, and UI Policies
System integration experience using web services and other web based technologies such as XML, HTTP, REST/SOAP scripted APIs
Customizing ServiceNow using UI Pages, UI Macro & CMS using CSS, HTML and Jelly. Also working with widgets and the ServiceNow Self Service Portal.
Knowledge of web user interface unit testing, profiling, and code tuning
Exceptional debugging, testing, and problem solving skills
Demonstrated success completing complex projects, on time
Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies quickly
Passion for software development and problem solving
Strong written and verbal communication
Project management experience, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
ServiceNow Admin & Developer certification is a plus
