Job Summary: The InfoSec TTX Program Engineer is responsible for conducting engaging tabletop exercises (TTX) as a service to the greater InfoSec organization and key business partners uniquely passionate about IR readiness activities which guides participants through the process of fully recovering from a simulated cyber incident and worst-case-scenario. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a solid understanding of how to craft an interactive scenario, conduct discovery to ensure the scenario is realistic given the Equinix security posture, operational procedures, and works multi-functionally across key stakeholders to fully complete TTX events. Additionally, the InfoSec TTX Program Engineer continuously seeks out opportunities in day to day interactions with peers and senior leaders to identify and improve upon security vulnerabilities, process gaps, and assists with driving adoption for operational aspirations. The TTX Program Engineer is encouraged to provoke thoughtful discussions, actively participate in cyber incident postmortem activities and Pen Test briefings to gain insights into content that is suitable for development into future tabletop exercises and to work with external organizations, including those passionate about business continuity, GRC, and crisis management, to integrate tabletop exercises across a broad range of participants. This position is remote and reports directly to Global InfoSec Strategic Operations.
Developing, coordinating, and delivering high quality cyber-themed tabletop exercises to promote Equinix’s preparation against actual cybersecurity incidents.
Coordinating with organizations external to the Equinix Global InfoSec to ensure relevance and value of tabletop exercises meet the needs of a broad group of stakeholders.
Producing and maintaining documentation on all TTX deliverables, planning materials and overall program execution.
8+ years of experience in information security roles preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Outstanding communications skills (oral and written) with a history of optimally engaging with multiple levels of leadership.
Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Identity and Access Management (IDAM) systems.
Antivirus's software and Firewalls.
Privilege/vulnerability and threat management.
Operational Support Systems.
Experience in development of engaging cyber tabletop exercise content.
Experience in conducting incident response.
Ability to coordinate large-scale tabletop exercises across a wide array of remote participants across various time zones.
Experience with operational processes aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Understanding of technology systems such as networks, applications, servers, cloud, authentication, and new technologies.
Experience working with information security teams such as fusion centers, security operations centers, vulnerability assessment, vulnerability threat management, security incident management, cyber “hunt,” and big data analysis.
Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work independently with little oversight.
Outstanding interpersonal communication and effective presentation skills.
Security techniques and standards, NIST CSF, 800-53, 800-82.
Demonstrates understanding of project management processes, including the planning of action items and resources, including RFI/RFP.
Able to communicate developed technology solutions, expresses the importance of an effective process and develops implementation plans.
Certifications in Information Security and IT disciplines such as MCSE, RHCE, CISSP, CEH, Network +, etc.
Experience with system communications protocols (TCP/IP, UDP IP, HTTP, FTP, SFTP, USB, MODBUS TCP, PROFIBUS, BACNET, RS 232/485, XMPP).
Experience in Python, Bash, PowerShell (preferred) and C, C++, Visual C, Java, Java Script, SQL, is nice to have.
Certification in SANS (GPEN), SANS (GCIH) and SANS (GCED) preferred
Creative, independent with good problem-solving skills.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
Willingness to travel on overseas assignment as the need arises.
