Job Summary: Frontend Developer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building web components. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with design software and wireframe tools, along with a strong development skillset with several programming languages including JavaScript, React and SASS. This should all be combined with a solid understanding of how to deliver a satisfying user experience. You will work alongside product teams, analysts, and other engineers to design systems and application software, as well as drive design decisions based on customer needs and requirements.
Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis
Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
Interface with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and effectively implement user stories
Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
Software Design
Producing high-quality design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and graphs for our digital assets.
Lead features and modules design
Development/Coding
Design, build, and maintain highly reusable JavaScript, React and SASS code.
Provide technical leadership to the team
Participate in peer reviews
Adoption of standard coding processes
Software Reliability & Support Engineering
Capture, Consolidate, and maintain inventory of production applications, flows and systems for applicable software engineering verticals
Help in preparing application support documentation
Develop the standards of code and libraries such that they are easily traceable in the future
Technical Project Management
Provide level of effort (LOE)
Works with technical project managers and product management teams to define schedule
Provide status reports and release management progress updates
R&D/Innovation
Investigate, analyze, and evaluate new technologies
Understand the limitations of our tech stack and business model and provide technical advice wherever necessary.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience as a front-end developer with a focus on user experience
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
A portfolio that demonstrates both JavaScript proficiency and understanding of design principles is not required, but desirable
