Job Summary

Our Finance data products serve as the backbone for strategic planning, financial operations, and performance management across the enterprise. Designed for CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, Treasury, Tax, and Audit teams, these products unify financial data from core systems such as ERP (Oracle), EPM (Anaplan, Hyperion), CPQ/CRM (Salesforce), and BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau), and increasingly leverage AI to automate and elevate financial insight. The scope spans enterprise data platforms, finance-grade semantic models, financial planning & forecasting engines, profitability modeling, cash flow analytics, margin waterfall insights, dashboards, and AI-driven forecasting and anomaly detection. These solutions help Finance improve forecasting accuracy, accelerate close and reporting cycles, optimize working capital, mitigate risk, improve cost transparency, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen financial governance. Over time, we aspire to commercialize these capabilities—creating differentiated data products and solutions that our customers can leverage to better engage with Equinix and transform digitally.

We are looking for a Director of Data Product Management—Finance to lead our Finance data & analytics product strategy and roadmap. This role partners closely with Finance and business leadership to understand strategic priorities, operating rhythms (e.g., FP&A calendar, budget cycles, financial close), and pain points such as fragmented data, manual reconciliations, spreadsheet overload, forecast bias, and limited scenario planning. You will translate these into high-impact data products that increase forecast precision, automate operational reporting, enable real-time insights, and unlock finance’s role as a strategic advisor to the business. The role will drive resource prioritization, ROI-based roadmap decisioning, and collaboration with AI, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient Finance-grade data solutions.

Responsibilities

Business engagement / advisory:

  • Build deep trusted advisor relationships with CFO staff, FP&A, Controllership, Tax, Treasury, and Audit teams by understanding their strategic objectives, operating cadence, and financial processes (e.g., budgeting, forecasting, financial close, management reporting)

  • Translate Finance pain points—such as forecast drift, margin visibility, multi-dimensional cost allocations, capital planning, risk governance, and reporting automation—into data product solutions

  • Set stakeholder expectations with transparency and clarity; proactively balance quick win delivery and foundational platform efforts

  • Develop solutions, lead, and manage problems that may be ambiguous and lacking clear precedent by framing problems, generating hypotheses, and making recommendations from a perspective that combines both, problem-solving and product-specific expertise

Thought leadership on outside in leading industry use cases:

  • Stay current on Finance-specific AI and analytics trends—AI-driven forecasting, predictive cash flow modeling, margin waterfall automation, anomaly detection, ESG reporting, tax scenario modeling

  • Introduce best-in-class external practices for digital finance transformation, autonomous planning, and governance frameworks (SOX, GDPR, data privacy)

  • Influence finance strategy by demonstrating how AI and analytics can drive working capital efficiency, optimized CapEx planning, cost-to-serve transparency, and improved capital allocation

Data product strategy, roadmap, and management:

  • Develop a Data Product Strategy for your functional stakeholders, in alignment with Strategic business goals, and short term/long term priorities

  • Lead development of finance-grade semantic data models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, margin waterfall, cost center hierarchy) and integrate with enterprise Data Platform

  • Productize analytics services such as AI-based forecasting engines, financial planning datasets, profitability dashboards, automated close insights, management reporting packs, and governance-enabled data catalogs

  • Design products optimized for ease of use, forecast accuracy, automation of manual processes, secure financial workflows, audit readiness, and executive-grade insights

  • Manage budgets associated with Finance data product investments and communicate value realization metrics (accuracy improvement, reporting cycle time reduction, process automation ROI)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field

  • Strong knowledge of Finance concepts: FP&A, financial planning & forecasting, profitability modeling, management reporting, capital planning, margin and cost analytics, SOX, and compliance

  • 6-8+ years in Product Management, ideally with experience building Finance analytics products (EPM, FP&A, ERP-integrated analytics, forecasting engines, etc.)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven track record of building strong relationships with business stakeholders

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, IT, Engineering, and Data Science

  • Dynamic, forward-thinking leader with a bias for action, rapid experimentation, and ability to break down complex problems and deliver novel solutions to address them

  • Preferred: Prior experience in Data Center, Cloud, Telecommunications, IT industry

Skills

  • Analytical problem solver with the ability to work under pressure and multitask while leading cross-functional teams

  • Excellent communicator able to simplify the complex
