We are looking for a Database Engineer to join our great team in Spain.

Job Summary

  • Open Database profile that performs technical tasks in managing the shared services infrastructure, ensuring service availability, and suggesting process improvements.

Knowledge / experience required:

  • Database General Administration
  • Backup & Recovery Techniques
  • HA Arquitectures knwoledge
  • Sustaining the security and integrity of data
  • Performance Analysis
  • Basic Scripting

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work well within a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Main language is Spanish: Excellent communication skills both oral and written in Spanish.
  • English required (medium level).

 

Tasks - Responsibilities:

  • Actively manage the health, performance and support.
  • Develop proactive methodology for ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas
  • Identify flaws or issues in existing databases, set up best practices, and implement improvements
  • Collaborate with developer, business and customers stakeholders
  • Identify and configure monitoring utilities/tools for design reports.
  • Provide support on escalations for technical issues within IT Operations. Offer suggestions for resolution of these issue and support to ensure a better experience of our customers.
  • Review technical processes (e.g. provisioning lead time, effectivity) within the IT Operations and identify opportunities for process improvement; may lead process solutions.
  • Identify, manage, resolve and document issues and provide root cause analysis when necessary (postmortem analysis).
  • Write documentation (can be technical & non-technical) for work being completed within own teams.

Valuable

  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Mysql databases
  • Experience with database recovery, database administration, database optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Pgsql programming and development experience
  • Phyton and Shellscript
  • Performance Analysis (Monitoring database efficiency)
  • Knowledge of cloud providers AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Certifications is a bonus

Conditions:

  • Workplace located in Alcobendas, Madrid (Spain)
  • Possibility of work from home after two months of trial (during the health alert, working from home will be the preferred option).
  • Workday 8x5:
    • Flexible schedule: M-T 8’5 hours (From 8:00/9:30 to 17:00/18:30) and F ’45 hours (7:30/9:30 to 14:15/16:15).
    • Meal schedule between 13:30 and 16:00: 45 minutes minimum, 2 hours maximum
    • Intensive working day from August 1st to 31th, 7 hours (8:00/8:30 to 1:00/15:30)
  • Non-presence on call with phone availability every 4-6 weeks.
  • Economic data: Salary+Bonus 15%
