Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned enterprise architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team, reporting the Director of Enterprise Architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of industry-accepted principles and standards for data architecture and modeling, data replication, regulations, privacy, and security. The candidate must have a strong working experience with analytics platforms and tools, data ingestion and transformations tools, and database design.
You will work closely with a federated architecture team to establish standards and document current and future state architecture. You will also collaborate with IT and business teams to develop future state and business capability roadmaps. You will collaborate with the Solution Architects to ensure designs are developed and implemented based on established Architecture principles and guidelines. The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share their knowledge with business stakeholders, development teams and IT leadership within Equinix.
Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into technology requirements and define data standards and principles (in collaboration with IT and non-IT stakeholders). The enterprise architect is responsible for visualizing and designing an organization's enterprise data management framework
Provide a standard common business vocabulary, express strategic requirements, outline high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements, and align with enterprise strategy and related business architecture,
Play a leadership role in the definition and execution of the information management roadmap
Support enterprise data architecture roadmap by managing architectural runway for enterprise data model, enterprise data store/warehouse, information management, and advanced data analytics capabilities
Provide data architecture thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, data governance, database design and implementation
Partner with stakeholders, management, and teams to identify needs and guide the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance technology capabilities using enterprise information architecture principles and core data assets
Practice self-leadership and promote learning in others by soliciting and acting on performance feedback
Establish collaborative, multi-functional relationships and communicating information and providing advice to drive enterprise data architecture decisions forward
Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of our data activity across company needs
Collaborate with application, data, and analytics teams to capture related data architecture definitions in Equinix’s architecture repository and keep it up to date
Be an active member of Architecture Review Board (ARB) representing data and analytics and drive Architecture governance based on standards and roadmap. Actively work with Domain Architects to resolve deviations from standards
Partner with solution architects on major project initiative to deliver architecture, solution, and technical designs. Shepherd those projects through ARB and follow up on any resulting action items
Help evaluate external (commercial, open source) new technologies/tools in the data and analytics domain. Work with internal teams to drive build–versus-buy decisions
Keep an eye on industry trends in the data and analytics domains and actively work to quantify and qualify their impact on current architecture and roadmap
Participate in industry forums. And present if appropriate
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Masters or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
10+ years of experience in the data and analytics technology domain preferred
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in information/data architecture, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated
Impactful senior technical leader who will lead and drive initiatives to the next level with a focus on delivering business value.
Possess deep technical and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and teams (both small and large) as well as to an executive audience
Thrive on working in a fast-paced, evolving, dynamic environment
Possess technical depth in one or more of the following subject areas: Data Engineering, Data processing, Data ingestion, Data modeling, Data APIs, Visualization tools, Analytics, Machine Learning, AI
Possess deep understand of Data Governance, Enterprise Data Quality and Master Data Management
In-depth experience working with Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)/ technologies and driving a cloud computing strategy
Development experience in distributed systems, distributed data processing, and working with large data sets
Work extremely well in a multi-functional environment.
Proactive, driven, and a fast learner with excellent interpersonal skills to articulate the message of innovation
Valuable to have experience with Enterprise Architecture tools like LeanIX, Troux, or others
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is:
San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $155,000 to $276,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
NON-SALES ROLES
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
