Job Summary: The Datacentre Lead is responsible for the day-to-day running of our datacentre in Bromma (SK1) and leads the Operations team which consists of Datacentre Technician, Warehouse Specialists and support roles. The Datacentre leader is involved in the recruitment and development of the team, acts as an SME in installations and troubleshooting and manages the relationships with various customer and vendors. This is a key role in our Operations team in Stockholm, and we are looking for someone who has the capacity to lead and develop a diverse team, has good knowledge of datacentre operations and can provide solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Recruits, retains, develops, coaches and leads staff responsible for the stability and efficiency of the data centers.
  • Responsible for the 24x7 operational oversite and direction to both Technical teams
  • Accountable for successful implementation of customer projects lead by the project manager, teams and/or local datacentre teams.
  • Solving problems and fault resolution of reported/detected faults by investigating the issue, identifying the cause and implementing the required fix
  • Leads datacenter technical staff responsible for building customer cages, suites, installing and maintaining cross connects structured cabling, customer hardware, and shipping and receiving.
  • Summarizes the findings during the troubleshooting and produces incident reports for the customer
  • Understands customer cabling requirements, performs site surveys, provides cost estimates to Sales and installation of new cables
  • Performs testing of cables before handing to customer
  • Manages, briefs, and instructs vendors for installation, testing, and labeling
  • Performs preventive maintenance to IBX equipment to prevent faults from occurring
  • Handles multiple projects and assists in designating work to team

Experience and skills

  • Extensive experience with infrastructure facilities in the datacentre industry.
  • Extensive knowledge in network and equipment platforms, systems, and circuits.
  • Understands how to assess customer needs through direct communication, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective datacentre operations for the protection of people, data, property, and sites.
  • Skilled leader with established track record of hiring, cultivating/mentoring operational teams.
  • Fosters an environment of cross collaboration with an openness to growth and frequent changes.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with the ability to escalate and shift targets to meet targeted dates
