Job Summary
Equinix is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on Digital Experience to join our Dallas office. In this role, you will design, build, and launch scalable software solutions that meet customer requirements using a state-of-the-art technology stack and best engineering practices. You will be responsible for building critical applications and features at a global scale, delivering a world-class experience for the Equinix procurement function.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own the technical roadmap, serve as the primary technical SME, and collaborate across IT, security, and business teams to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable AI-driven applications.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled engineer passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies across the full stack—modern front-end frameworks such as React.js, Angular, Vue.js, and HTML5, combined with robust back-end platforms like Node.js, Express.js, Django, and Spring Boot—to solve complex, real-world problems. We’re looking for someone with exceptional engineering fundamentals, a deep understanding of scalable architecture, and strong product intuition to deliver high-impact solutions with precision.
Responsibilities

Back-End & Microservices
- Build and maintain secure, scalable microservices using Java (Spring Boot/Quarkus/Micronaut) and Node.js (NestJS/Express).
- Define API contracts (REST/GraphQL/gRPC), govern schemas (Avro/Protobuf), and ensure

Front-End Development
- Understand the bigger picture and all user personas to design and build secure, scalable applications that deliver a seamless experience and create a true WOW factor for customers.
- Ensure strong state management, performance optimization, and intuitive user experiences for large-scale audiences.
- Design and deliver responsive, scalable, and accessible (WCAG 2.2 AA) world-class UI/UX solutions using React and TypeScript

DevOps & CI/CD
- Establish CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Azure DevOps.
- Implement progressive delivery strategies (canary/blue-green) and feature flagging (LaunchDarkly).

Security & Compliance
- Enforce security by design: OAuth2/OIDC/SAML, JWT, RBAC; manage secrets (Vault); ensure supply-chain security (image scanning).

Architecture & System Design
- Develop end-to-end product flows and robust system architectures.
- Architect secure, multi-cloud applications across AWS/GCP/Azure; design portable, resilient solutions; manage containerization and Kubernetes deployments (Helm/Kustomize, GitOps).
- Apply domain-driven design (DDD) principles for modeling and modular architecture.

Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with Product Managers, SRE/Platform, and SecOps teams to deliver integrated, compliant solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.

Observability & Operational Excellence
- Instrument services with OpenTelemetry; implement logging, metrics, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Jaeger).
- Define SLOs/SLIs and create incident response/runbooks.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate emerging technologies (especially AI/ML), run proof-of-concepts, and recommend adoption strategies with clear ROI and risk trade-offs.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling enterprise-grade applications that deliver measurable business impact and exceptional user experiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in developing end-to-end customer-focused solutions, including buying/procurement experiences or similar applications.
- Full-stack development proficiency: relational data modeling, DB optimization, REST API design, JavaScript, CSS, and delivering APIs as a service.
- Strong experience in React & TypeScript, modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind, Styled Components, CSS Modules), accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), and performance optimization (SSR/ISR).
- Backend expertise: Java (Spring Boot) and Node.js (NestJS/Express); relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM tools (JOOQ/JPA/Hibernate).
- API design and lifecycle management: REST, GraphQL, gRPC; versioning, pagination, rate limiting, and security best practices.
- Deep knowledge of AWS, GCP, and Azure; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes (workloads, networking, storage, autoscaling, PodDisruptionBudgets).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) and GitOps tools (Argo CD, Flux).
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and automated deployment strategies.
- End-to-end testing expertise: unit, integration, e2e, contract testing (Pact), TestContainers, frontend tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright), and performance/load testing (k6/JMeter).
- Familiarity with caching (Redis, Memcached) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Familiarity with Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack; logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Strong understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) and API lifecycle management.
- Solid grasp of software engineering best practices: version control, CI/CD, automated testing.
- Ability to work asynchronously across teams and time zones with excellent communication and influence skills.
- Experience with enterprise application integration (ERP, Procurement systems) and Source-to-Pay processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in Agile teams.
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 118,000 - 176,000 USD / Annual
