Job Summary

The Corporate Development Director, Strategy oversees and guides business planning/analysis, strategic initiatives, and new business development. They are expected to represent the Corporate Development function with all major stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Development

  • Oversees the annual strategic planning process in conjunction with the Regional and Corporate teams

  • Spearheads corporate development opportunities, partnering with Finance, Marketing, and other operating areas

  • Drives strategy/business case development

  • Engages with department leaders to obtain buy-in for cross-functional projects

  • Storyboards and gives presentations to department leaders on key initiatives

  • Identifies, assesses and prioritizes market extension opportunities (e.g., new services, solutions, business models)


Initiative Management

  • Identifies potential complex strategic initiatives across the business

  • Advises and leads internal consulting projects focused on new markets/products, growth initiatives or profitability improvements

  • Works with the Corporate Development Vice Presidents and other senior leaders in the compilation and analysis of strategy, M&A, Real Estate, long term capital and operating budget allocation, new market entry, technology assessment, DC product planning, and other corporate development initiatives for the company


Customer Analysis and Strategic Positioning

  • Oversees the analysis of customer footprints and deployments with Equinix

  • Provides recommendations on how to win new customers and grow business with existing customers

  • Proactively identifies emerging industry and market trends, including tracking competitive activity, and provides insights to the operation regarding these trends

  • Identifies opportunities for increased customer engagement


Cross-functional Coordination

  • Influences decisions of key stakeholders throughout the company

  • Oversees Corporate Development priorities that are aligned with the business


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business experience, preferably in Investment Banking/Top tier Management consulting/Corporate Finance/Corporate Development at a leading technology company preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field preferred; CPA or MBA a plus

This posting is a new position within our organization.

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 177,000 - 265,000 USD / Annual

Canada - Toronto Office TRO : 166,000 - 248,000 CAD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
