Job Summary

As a Data Center Technician III, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our data centers running smoothly. You’ll work hands-on with customer equipment, network infrastructure, and critical systems that support our global platform. This position is ideal for someone with foundational data center or technical experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

Operations & Work Order Management

  • Review and respond to semi-routine work orders in the queue, ensuring all tasks are completed within committed timelines

  • Escalate or expedite requests in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all completed work

  • Update asset databases and internal systems to reflect current configurations and installations

Installations

  • Perform “rack and stack” installations of customer equipment according to Equinix SOPs

  • Assist with infrastructure builds, including fiber trays, ladder racks, cabinets, and cage installations

  • Execute tape changes and standard backup rotations following documented processes

Cross-Connects & Cabling

  • Support cross-connect installations, modifications, terminations, and testing for fiber, copper, and coax cabling

  • Follow Equinix standards for cable routing and management

  • Learn and support advanced connectivity setups under supervision

Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct routine Layer 1 testing and certification of cross-connects and customer assets

  • Support troubleshooting activities for semi-routine installations

  • Learn higher-level (Layer 2/3) testing procedures with guidance from senior technicians

Customer & Team Support

  • Deliver excellent customer service through timely communication and quality work

  • Provide on-site support including access control, escorting, and assistance with customer audits

  • Collaborate closely with operations and security teams to maintain a secure and efficient environment

Project Support

  • Participate in standard project work and assist vendors or senior technicians as needed

  • Support documentation and project tracking to ensure accurate reporting and completion

Training & Development

  • Complete assigned technical and safety training on schedule

  • Share knowledge and assist in training new team members as needed

Qualifications

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 1–2 years of relevant technical or data center experience

  • You’re hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable following technical procedures

  • You value teamwork, reliability, and delivering a great experience to customers

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

United States - Dal Dallas : 46,400 - 69,600 USD / Annual

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
