The Australian Integrated Operations Center (IOC) is tasked with monitoring all Australian Data Center’s infrastructure and security, maintaining the systems and solving system issues. You will coordinate and support incident response where multiple sites are impacted and communicate with customers as required.

Working within a 24/7 shift pattern, the role will require an excellent written and verbal communicator and the responsibility to assess, action or escalate incidents accordingly. This will include dealing with senior Government and Defence customers and delegates, so we are seeking someone with the confidence, willingness and expertise to work with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:
System Monitoring

  • 24x7x365 monitoring of IBX security and infrastructure alarms
  • Supports and coordinates the Equinix AU incident triage process
  • Supports customers and internal stakeholders as POC for the AU-Service Desk/IOC

Documentation & Processing

  • Ensures timely and accurate input of access information into access control system
  • Processes inbound access requests from customers, carriers, and our sites
  • Dispatches service requests, trouble and alarm tickets
  • Assist monthly customer & facilities reports
  • Participate and support monthly engineering and security drills
  • Understands approval process and determine timelines for orders that have been expedited or require negotiation

Technical Expertise

  • Builds familiarity with BMS systems, security access control systems, CCTV Systems and basic data center infrastructure
  • Has working knowledge of security best practices

Problem Solving, Systems Support & Maintenance

  • Processes inbound alerts from essential systems and network elements
  • Provides timely response to all access and CCTV related alarms
  • Processes site maintenance and outage notifications
  • Ability to identify and resolve, or report, a detected problem
  • Escalates trouble cases and emergencies as needed to lead and/or management personnel

Quality Assurance and Training

  • Assists with Operations Compliance QA and escalates trouble cases to lead and/or management as needed
  • Undertake mandatory courses to where required and receives guidance and support from colleagues and management

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in critical facility monitoring and incident response
  • Holds a current security license or is able to obtain within six months of commencing
  • Hold an NV1 Security clearance or is able to obtain  (MUST be an Australian Citizen)
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience with knowledge of security best practices
  • Customer service oriented and willingness to commit to ongoing shift work
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn fast and work autonomously
