Job Summary

Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees. Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules and workflow of the team. 

Responsibilities

Management

• Provides immediate supervision to semi-skilled support team members

• Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules and workflow of the team

• Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and training

• Provide guidance and escalation support for complex issues and emergencies

Project / Infrastructure Site Management

• Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the datacenters. Executes specified routine tasks. Meets unit targets typically against a weekly plan

• Provides input and guidance towards budget

• Overall site capacity supervision

Vendor Management

• Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards

• Manage third-party vendors performing installations, maintenance, and testing

• Ensure compliance with Equinix standards, safety protocols, and documentation practices

Technical Expertise

• Apply deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems in a data center setting

• Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies

• Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems 

Incident Management

• Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident

Qualifications

Typical Degree & Years of Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent work experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
