We are seeking a technically hands-on Privacy Engineer who operates at the intersection of Privacy, Security, Engineering, and Legal. This is not a compliance-only or governance-focused role. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise and serve as a trusted privacy advisor to Legal, Product, Engineering, and Security teams.

This role sits within the Legal/Privacy function and acts as the technical privacy subject matter expert. The Privacy Engineer will work closely with Privacy Counsel and Legal teams to evaluate privacy risks, advise on product and technology decisions, and ensure privacy requirements are implemented effectively through technical controls and engineering solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical background in privacy engineering, application security, product security, data protection, or security architecture.

  • Experience designing and implementing privacy-enhancing technologies and technical controls, such as:

    • Data minimization and protection solutions

    • Privacy-by-design frameworks

    • Consent and preference management systems

    • Tracking prevention and anti-fingerprinting technologies

    • Privacy-preserving analytics

    • Data discovery, classification, and protection capabilities

  • Deep understanding of privacy regulations and their technical implementation, including GDPR, CCPA, and global data protection requirements.

  • Proven ability to translate legal and regulatory obligations into scalable engineering solutions and operational controls.

  • Experience partnering closely with Privacy Counsel, Legal, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams to conduct privacy reviews, risk assessments, and technical evaluations of new products and features.

  • Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance to Legal teams on privacy risks, controls, architectures, and emerging technologies.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CISSP, CISM, or comparable security certifications.

  • Background in application security, product security, security architecture, or data protection engineering.

  • Experience supporting privacy programs within a legal, privacy, or risk organization while maintaining a highly technical focus.

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages
