What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a Senior Data Center Technician who can lead by example, mentor junior team members, and ensure operational excellence.

 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in data center operations

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage escalations, and lead a team during critical situations

  • Hands-on experience with data center buildouts, equipment assembly, and installation

  • Knowledge of connectivity technologies, especially fiber optics, structured cabling, and cross-connects

  • Experience using Fluke testers or similar tools for cable and fiber testing

  • Solid understanding of IT systems, hardware troubleshooting, and network basics

  • Familiarity with Change, Incident, and Escalation Management processes

  • Ability to work in a shift-based environment, including on-call rotation and after-hours support

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of critical infrastructure (power and cooling systems) is a plus, but not mandatory

 

Responsibilities

Hands-on Customer Support

  • Handle customer installations and troubleshooting, including fiber cross-connects and testing

  • Provide customer support, including but not limited to logistics coordination and security coverage

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on hardware and network equipment

  • Manage internal and external tickets (including Smart Hands requests) in line with SLAs

 

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Lead escalations for incidents, coordinating resolution efforts across teams

  • Mentor and train peers, promoting best practices and ensuring operational discipline

  • Deliver clear shift handovers and comprehensive operational status reports

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and operational excellence

  • Develop documentation and operational processes to standardize best practices

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Monitor infrastructure alarms (power, cooling, temperature, humidity) to maintain stable operations

  • Oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, cleanliness, and operational standards

  • Occasional travel to other data centers for project support or escalations

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in data center operations

  • Expertise in hardware troubleshooting and hands-on data center work

  • Ability to work in 24/7 shift rotation

  • Background in IT or Telecommunications

  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills

  • Fluent in English (Swedish is a plus)
