Job Summary

The Payroll Operations Analyst supports the accurate and timely delivery of payroll activities for EMEA countries. This role is responsible for payroll validation, data administration, reconciliation activities, and payroll quality checks while partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and external payroll vendors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll operations experience and foundational Alteryx skills who is interested in developing their analytical and payroll expertise within a global organization. The role will support EMEA payroll operations and requires flexibility to work EMEA-aligned business hours.

Responsibilities

Payroll Administration & Validation

  • Review payroll data received from HR Shared Services (HRSS), Workday, and other source systems.
  • Perform payroll quality checks to ensure employee data is accurate and complete prior to payroll submission.
  • Support payroll processing activities by validating payroll inputs, outputs, and reports.
  • Investigate payroll exceptions and assist with issue resolution.
  • Execute payroll controls and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Liaise with employees to resolve payroll queries and ensure timely, accurate issue resolution.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Perform payroll validation checks using Alteryx and other reporting tools.
  • Run and maintain existing Alteryx workflows used by the payroll team.
  • Support the creation and enhancement of payroll reporting and automated checks.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and exceptions.

Collaboration

  • Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, HR Shared Services, and external vendors to resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Support payroll projects, testing activities, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with audit requests and documentation as required.

Reconciliations & Controls

  • Support payroll reconciliations and validation activities.
  • Perform payroll and reporting checks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist with SOX and compliance-related controls where applicable.
  • Escalate issues and anomalies identified during payroll reviews.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in payroll administration, payroll operations, HR operations, shared services, or a related role.
  • Approximately 1 year of hands-on experience using workflow automation tools.
  • Experience working with large data sets and performing data validation activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting payroll in a global or shared services environment.
  • Approximately 1 year of hands-on experience using Alteryx.
  • Exposure to payroll controls, payroll audits, or reconciliation activities.
  • Experience with Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle, or other HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with SOX controls or compliance processes.
