Job Summary: 

Equinix continues to experience rapid global growth, with Singapore recognized as one of the most critical markets in both the APAC region and our global operations. As we expand our footprint, it is essential to appoint a transformational leader to drive operational excellence and support our strategic initiatives in Singapore.  

We are seeking a Manager, Critical Facilities, to lead our SG1 and SG3 operations teams. This role will oversee the Critical Facilities Engineer team and play a key role in ensuring that new expansions are delivered on time and meet Equinix’s world-class standards.  

As the Manager, you will be responsible for guiding a high-performing team toward achieving operational excellence, with a strong focus on maintaining zero downtime across our data centers. You will also manage workforce planning and performance to align with Equinix’s ambitious growth objectives and uphold our reputation for reliability and innovation. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Team Management 

  • Manages a team of critical facilities engineers such as electrical, mechanical and controls engineers 

  • Leads teams to work safely, effectively and with a strong emphasis on avoiding human error 

  • Oversee personnel management functions, including performance evaluations, role positioning, employee reviews, mentoring, and professional development 

 

Site Management 

  • Supervise regular preventative maintenance activities  

  • Develop and manage routine operational plans, ensuring targets are met in alignment with monthly objectives 

  • Implement innovative strategies to proactively address and prevent potential issues. 

 

Incident Management 

  • Strive for zero downtime in the mission-critical facility environments 

  • Communicate and coordinate activities with on-site staff during incidents 

  • Supervise root cause analysis and help resolve incidents effectively 

  • Implement emergency and disaster mitigation strategies 

 

Project Management 

  • Manage complex projects to include project budget and scope and designate work to team  

  • Work with global and regional team to support various initiatives and projects 

 

Vendor Management 

  • Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards, (KPI's) Key Performance Indicators and (SLA's) Service Level Agreements 

  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies throughout vendor management process, conducting regular audits and assessments to maintain standards 

 

Testing 

  • Ensures correct processes are followed and all documentation is complete 

  • Takeover of new builds and building infrastructure 

 

Requirements:  

  • Typically, over 7 years of relevant experience in Data Center or Mission Critical industries.  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a diverse team, leveraging proven managerial experience to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment  

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and provide effective solutions to incidents 

  • Proven experience in vendor management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies
