Job Summary
Data Centers are considered Mission Critical Facilities. This means that we support hospitals, laboratories, and public safety centers. Simply put - We cannot go dark. In this essential role, you will manage personnel and materials and uses expertise to recommend system-level enhancements, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and subject matter expertise to support large-scale installations
Understands the approval process and determine timelines for orders that have been expedited or require negotiation
Determines when to approve custom orders and amends for labor hours and material costs, if required
Manages all incoming requests and work assignments to support customer orders
Utilizes advanced troubleshooting ability to lead fault resolution
Identifies cost savings opportunities and communicates to IBX management
Proposes and implements advanced technology (e.g., testing equipment, fusion splicing, etc.)
Provides weekly activity reports and metrics as required
Develops job plans for large installation projects using tools such as MS Project / Visio / Excel; controls critical paths by managing personnel and materials.
Ensures staff is fully trained on current functional operational procedures, Oracle operational procedures, and safety; ensures full compliance with the QA program
Manages customer requirements/issues, especially in sensitive situations
Attends internal coordination, progress meetings, or conference calls; provides updates as needed to the customer.
Proficiencies and ability to train junior technicians on the following:
Install/Terminate/Splice/Test/Modify fiber (SMF & MMF), and copper cross connects, ensure the proper dressing
Rack and stack customer equipment
Install cages, ladder racks, fiber tray raceways, cabinets, patch panels, and wire management
Qualifications
5+ years experience in a data center environment
1+ years experience in a supervisory role or team lead
High School Diploma
The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $59,000 to $105,000
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
NON-SALES ROLES
The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
