To support this effort, we’re looking for a driven and experienced brand leader to join our marketing team.
As Senior Manager, Brand Experience, you will work daily with direction from our Director, Bare Metal Marketing as well as our digital marketing, developer relations, customer success and product marketing teams.
The Brand Experience portfolio is focused on establishing Equinix (and Equinix Metal) as a trusted brand in the developer and software ecosystems. You and your team of creative producers are charged with extending our brand promise as “the cloud that knows your name” through virtual and live experiences, unique content projects, and creative project that create meaningful connections between our teams, partners, customers, and advocates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and resourceful brand leader. Equinix is an established brand in the infrastructure category with 10,000 satisfied global customers. It launched Equinix Metal in 2020 after acquiring Packet, which was well regarded in the developer community. Your goal will be to build on these foundations to accelerate the consumption of Equinix’s platform through a “bottoms-up” approach focused on developer adoption. We are poised for significant growth and need a strong brand leader to help propel our evolution.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate at all levels, and switch gears quickly. Your passion for designing strategic initiatives in partnership with Developer Relations, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Product is matched by your ability to execute at the highest level with a combination of internal resources and vendors. We are a lean, agile marketing team, and the right candidate thrives on the opportunities and challenges this presents.
This an entrepreneurial role that requires strategic, creative skills including design sensibility; content / storytelling capability; and a desire to engage with stakeholders across all mediums and platforms — from our website and social, to our product, events, print media, and live streams.
Build a clear, distinctive, and category-defining developer brand personality
Conceptualize, design and produce global campaigns that drive awareness and growth, while building emotional connections with the global developer community
Lead, build and manage a team of creatives from visual and physical design to motion graphics, content to production
Develop a culture of creative excellence and mentor our talent to achieve their greatest creative output
Oversee the design and storytelling of our brand channels including website, email, social, and written and video technical content
Partner with our Digital, Product Marketing, Developer Relations, CTO, Corporate Brand and other teams to create cohesive creative campaigns that work across owned and paid channels
Be responsible for the budget, headcount, project management and people management
Maintain a current knowledge of design trends, industry trends, market conditions, tools, and techniques.
10+ years' experience in a brand, design and/or creative role, 5+ with leadership responsibilities
You have a demonstrated experience growing and executing brand strategies that create meaningful connections with difficult to reach audiences
Proven ability in ideating, creating and implementing global-scale and unique creative brand campaigns
You understand how to communicate across mediums, especially the written word, video, photography, events and physical items
An excellent track record as a strong manager and mentor
A natural collaborator, who works effectively with all levels of management, as well as third party agencies and partners
An excellent storyteller with strong verbal and written communication skills
Your creative problem-solving skills and focus are balanced by big-picture thinking
You have a passion for technology and for making a positive impact.
You have a strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial spirit
